FIGHTING FOR US
DELIVERING RESULTS

LISA'S PRIORITIES

PROTECTING REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM

Lisa Middleton is a committed advocate for reproductive freedom and is working to protect women’s rights and access to safe, legal abortion. In 2022, Lisa campaigned for the constitutional amendment to protect abortion rights and access to contraception. That’s why Lisa is the only candidate for State Senate supported by Planned Parenthood and Reproductive Freedom for All California.

In the Senate, Lisa will:

  • Work to increase funding for Planned Parenthood and reproductive healthcare clinics.

  • Protect patients and doctors who come to California from states where abortion has been criminalized from prosecution.

  • Expand access to IVF and contraception — because everyone deserves the freedom to choose when and how to start a family.

FIXING ROADS, CREATING JOBS

Lisa Middleton serves on the Riverside County Transportation Commission, where she is known as a hard-working leader who partners with Republicans and Democrats to invest in rebuilding roads, bridges and public transportation throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, while creating good-paying, middle-class jobs.

In the Senate, Lisa will:

  • Lead efforts to rebuild and modernize our region’s roads and bridges and expand access to public transportation — without raising taxes on the middle class and working families.

  • Focus on bringing down the cost of living, supporting small businesses, and investing in affordable housing and infrastructure projects to create good-paying local jobs for working families.

KEEPING NEIGHBORHOODS SAFE

Lisa Middleton nearly doubled funding for local police in Palm Springs while on the City Council. Police Chief Andrew Mills says Middleton is “one of the best elected officials” he has worked with in 40 years of law enforcement. “The officers as well have a lot of confidence in her as an elected official, and that’s kind of rare,” he said. “But she’s that calming voice that tries to bring people together, rather than find the extremes and push people apart.” That’s why local police and firefighters who know her best have endorsed Lisa over her opponent.

In the Senate, Lisa will:

  • Invest in hiring more police, firefighters, paramedics and 911 dispatchers to reduce emergency response times and keep our neighborhoods safe.

  • Enact tougher penalties for repeat criminals, crack down on retail theft and human trafficking, and hold convicted criminals accountable.

  • Strengthen red flag laws to keep weapons of war off our streets and out of the hands of criminals, gang members, domestic abusers.

DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR TAXPAYERS

Lisa spent her career investigating fraud and fighting government waste for over 30 years — including working with district attorneys to prosecute the largest workers compensation fraud case in state history. On the City Council, Lisa has used her unique background and expertise to eliminate wasteful spending of our tax dollars and reduce inefficiencies in government.

In the Senate, Lisa will:

  • Demand accountability on homeless spending and ensure our tax dollars go to getting people off our streets and into housing and treatment.

  • Oppose Democratic leadership when necessary to prevent tax increases on middle-class families and eliminate wasteful government spending.

BUILDING HOUSING, TACKLING HOMELESSNESS

California’s housing affordability crisis demands urgent action, and Lisa Middleton is committed to building more housing and creating a pathway to homeownership for working families across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

In the State Senate, Lisa will:

  • Work across the aisle to cut expensive red tape, invest in affordable housing development, and create good-paying construction jobs.

  • Give local governments more authority to enact housing and homelessness policies that work for their communities — reliable funding necessary to create long-term solutions.

  • Implement California’s new CARE Courts faster, so we can help get unhoused people with severe mental illness off our streets and connected with the treatment, services, and supportive housing they need.

TACKLING THE
CLIMATE CRISIS

In the State Senate, Lisa will take action to combat climate change and invest in clean energy infrastructure — creating good-paying jobs and lowering costs for working families. She will also address the impacts of climate change on our communities — from working with local firefighters to implement wildfire prevention methods to improving power grids and infrastructure to withstand extreme heat and weather emergencies.
